Tokyo Metro Offers Free Snacks to Ease Congestion

In an attempt to alleviate congestion on trains during rush hour, the Tokyo Metro is offering free soba and tempura for riders who opt to travel during off-peak times. The offer will coincide with another program—which is being adopted by 1,000+ local companies—that asks business owners to ease their policies on punctuality so that their employees can arrive later or work from home to lessen the load on the city’s metro system.
