Over their brief two and half years in the bike game, Burlington, Vermont-based Budnitz Bicycles has released a wide range of some of the most high-performance bikes on the market. Specializing in titanium, cantilevered frames, precise geometry and no-holds-barred quality components, Budnitz is the holy grail of single track and commuter cycles alike. Available for pre-order today, Budnitz is releasing its first foray into the fat bike world, the FTB (which aptly stands for fat tire bike) just in time for winter riding.
Unlike most fat bikes, the FTB from Budnitz is unexpectedly light, with the specially designed, hand-built cantilevered titanium frame weighing in at just under four pounds. Meanwhile a 14-speed internal hub from Rohloff offers a streamlined and nearly maintenance-free range of gears that make riding through even the deepest snow feel like a dirt trail. The bike’s burly 3.8” tires allow riders to simply roll over almost any obstacle. Titanium components and a carbon fork give the bike a rock solid ride with featherweight handling, making this the performance bike of choice for crossing the most blustery of winter wonderlands.
The Budnitz FTB is made to order and will be available in limited quantities starting at $7000. For more information, visit Budnitz Bicycles online.
