CH Omakase 2017: Pansy Ass Ceramics Vessels

Several limited edition pieces from the subversive Toronto designers, one G-rated and some that are NSFW

Toronto-based Pansy Ass Ceramics is a CH favorite for their humor, playfulness and quality creations. The company—made up of Kris Aaron and Andrew Walker—explores gay male identify and culture via ceramics that are oftentimes subversive, and always eye-catching. From plates to planters, vases and objets, their creations pay homage to everything from anal beads to desserts.

For this year’s CH Omakase, Pansy Ass created several vessels—each one as delightful as the last, and all entirely functional. The Juicy Fruit Planter, made in an edition of 100, was especially made for Omakase with a G-rated vibe. The strawberry-shaped planter was delivered complete with an air plant in the USA, and a synthetic version for international clients.

Made in an edition of 14, the black and white Marbled Cock Planter is as blunt as its name. Handmade in Toronto, this vessel is also crafted to display an air plant (or similar) and should be hung with a nail at 45º for maximum support.

Two very lucky Omakase clients were gifted entirely one-of-a-kind pieces by Pansy Ass—and both are comical, and R-rated. A mischievous take on the fruit bowl, the Dick and Banana Bowl appears to be held up by phalluses and phallus-shaped fruits. The bowl itself is gold-rimmed and functional, but is a work of art in itself.

Making the subversive punny, Pansy Ass made another unique piece for another Omakase client. The 22K Gold Succulent Cockatoo planter is a take on the Cock Planter, but with a delightfully cheerful-looking cockatoo atop it. The beautifully made creature features gold talons and crest, making it an extra regal bird.

CH Omakase is a collection of never seen before, pre-release and collaboratively designed gifts delivered in time for a holiday surprise. You can see our collection from this past season here.
