Blue Bottle Coffee

blue-bottle-coffee.jpg

While in San Francisco last week I stumbled upon the best cappuccino I’ve had in ages at Blue Bottle Coffee—purveyors of beans and beverages made from fair trade, organically grown coffee. Blue Bottle has sort of a make-shift store front on the street side of Earl Gonzalez and Tad Longmaid’s Linden, a custom furniture workshop at 315 Linden Street. The beans are roasted, exhaled and blended in small batches at their Oakland headquarters across the bay. Each batch is only 21 lbs. (5 to 6 times smaller than average commercial roasters) which allows them to carefully inspect and control their product. Blue Bottle currently offers 13 different blends and is available online. Though given how small the batches are, I’m not yet sure how easy it is to get some.
