CH Edition: T-Tech by Tumi Backpack
Our second collaboration with the trusted travel brand results in our ideal day to day travel bag
As avid travelers, finding a single bag for all situations almost always ends in compromise, leaving us with an arsenal of luggage clogging up our closets. So when our friends at Tumi approached us to create our ideal, all-purpose bag we jumped at the chance. Having collaborated with Tumi before on a similar project—the Cool Hunting Safari Edition Alpha Duffel—our very own founder and editor in chief Josh Rubin stepped into a familiar role as lead designer to incorporate each and every key component needed to help the backpack seamlessly transition from the daily commute to foreign destinations, resulting in the CH Edition T-Tech by Tumi Backpack.
Finding inspiration in the utilitarian mobility of military packs, Josh designed the stealth black pack to appear minimalist on the outside, yet with comprehensive capabilities in the interior. In true CH fashion the T-Tech by Tumi bag ascribes to our unofficial motto of “always more” with details to address every must-have for day to day travel—laptop, iPad, phone, backup batteries, tripod, DSLR, wallet with business cards and water bottle. The main compartment also features a fold-away neoprene hammock—something we were especially particular about including—to keep your DSLR off the bag’s bottom and in a ready to grab position.
Beyond the interior housing—lined in yellow and finished with Cool Hunting green grosgrain—the sturdy exterior boasts a hideaway key leash, zippered side pockets and a built-in rain cover to ensure the naturally water-repellant waxed cotton bag remains dry in compromising weather. The medium-sized lower pocket also features a grid of lashings for attaching additional accessories. Just above this you’ll find the perfectly minimal co-branded stamp of approval by both T-Tech and CH. We made a short video with Josh showing how he packs in all the stuff he carries around.
Later today the CH Edition T-Tech by Tumi Backpack collaboration will be available exclusively through Fab online for $295. Be warned, just like our Cool Hunting Safari Edition Alpha Duffel, it’s likely to sell out fast.
