Nosaj Thing: Cold Stares ft. Chance The Rapper and The O’My’s

Nosaj Thing and Chance the Rapper continue their collaboration run with “Cold Stares“—a quiet, slow-burning track that also features The O’My’s frontman Maceo Haymes. The song is the first single from Nosaj Thing’s upcoming LP Fated, which is set for a 5 May release and it’s a melancholy, down-tempo number with provocative lyrics that allude to being possessed by the devil.

Cuushe: Tie

Tokyo’s Cuushe (aka Mayuko Hitotsuyanagi) continues delivering saccharine dream-pop with “Tie,” off her upcoming EP Night Lines—which is a collaborative release from indie labels Cascine (New York/London) and flau (Japan). The song progresses gently and sounds like an outer-space late-late-night jam mixed with a soundtrack to a children’s fantasy film. The EP (on limited 10″) is due for release in early April.

Kelela: A Message

Back in 2013, DC-born and LA-based singer/songwriter Kelela thrilled us with her mixtape Cut 4 Me. Now she’s announced her upcoming EP Hallucinogen—set to drop in early May—and released a slow-burning but spectacular track from it, called “A Message,” which was co-written with Arca. The video—directed by Daniel Sannwald—depicts a darkly lit Kelela cutting off her dreadlocks before eventually turning into an anime character.
