ZHU (aka Steven Zhu) hinted at a collaboration with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker a couple months back, and now “ My Life” has arrived. With plenty of synth chords and a four-to-the-floor beat, this track is somewhat straight-forward deep house, but it’s ZHU’s glossy production that takes the hazy track up a level.
Distinguishing himself from the boatload of star EDM producers, the ever-enigmatic Zhu breaks a few rules—first off, by staying largely anonymous, even when performing—and his recent Genesis Series, launched in September, is exemplary of that.
