Her Habits: Fast Than Sound
A promising first release from Brooklyn-based Her Habits—aka Joanie Wolkoff—”Faster Than Sound” is low-fi dance pop at its best. Decidedly pared down and simple, the vocal-forward track relies on an instantly catchy melodic hook rather than dense production. Think Little Dragon’s carefully proportioned electro indie meets a touch of Hot Chip’s nerdy geometric synths. Wolkoff’s Northerner EP is due 27 January 2015, just in time to thaw out the winter.
