“NSFW Female Gaze” at the Museum of Sex
A new exhibition at NYC’s Museum of Sex aims to analyze, present and promote the female sexual gaze through female-produced works with women as the subject. Titled “NSFW Female Gaze,” it features a diverse range of body types, ethnicities and sexual identities (though, as Elle notes, the artists and subjects are limited in age range). The collection manages to make clear certain perspectives of female desire—from subversion of the norm to a simple reclamation of pornography. The exhibition runs now through 24 September.
