The Making of The “Walking New York” Cover
Renowned French street artist JR has teamed up with The New York Times Magazine for a striking new cover for the upcoming “Walking New York” special edition zine. From afar, the image of 20-year-old immigrant Elmar Aliyez is seen striding across the cover but, upon closer inspection, the photo is actually an overhead shot of Flatiron Plaza, where yellow cabs and oblivious New Yorkers navigate a massive wheat-pasted artwork. Check out The New York Times’ time-lapse video for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the large-scale installation.
