Fake is the new black? It is according to Bea Correa, the Dutch designer who last year introduced knockoff Louis Vuitton handbags with the word “FAKE” spraypainted on them in gold. Her new FAKEWEAR line takes the comment further by alluding to the authenticity of the wearer. Similarly subversive (or at least irreverent), a collection called Trash&Fancy that repurposes tees and sweatshirts to make legwarmers and blouses. The elegant designs look eminently more wearable than past examples of the cut-up tee shirt craze.
