Real Australians Say Welcome
Over 1000 Australian artists are showcasing their Instagram art in support of Peter Drew’s “Real Australians Say Welcome” campaign. A flood of new works came after a spontaneous call out for local talent by The Design Files’ Lucy Feagins, a large supporter of the project, which promotes compassion for asylum seeker and discussion around immigration. Drew started posting the simple slogan in response to the Australian government’s policies on asylum seekers’s rights—and the ways that the Aussie public is divided. Spreading like colorful, creative wildfire, it’s a message that’s wholly positive.
