Watch Tesla’s Nearly-Autonomous Cars Navigate NYC Roads

An overnight software update to Tesla Model S and Model X vehicles enabled owners to drive (almost) hands-free to work this morning. The new push has upgraded the cars’ road-sensing capabilities to handle stop lights, curving freeways and even lane changes—basically everything except navigational turns (think of it as cruise-control perfected). Jalopnik took one of the refreshed Teslas onto the hectic roads of New York City to test it out, and its performance was scary-good. Watch the full video on their site.
