To create their custom-designed window display, the brains behind Manifold Architecture Studio laser-cut a series of hexagon-based modules in New York, and shipped them flat to Basel Switzerland for an installation in the 5M3 storefront gallery last week.
The project derives from two themes, one an exploration of subdivided patterns, taken from onsite leaf densities. The second concept involves the viewer, as the three-dimensional modules can be changed to allow multiple openings, allowing the spectator to change their perception of the storefront as they see fit.
