An ongoing Instagram experiment dubbed “What Italy Is” highlights the best parts of the country through endearing imagery and thoughtful captions. Conceived by photographers Simone Bramante and Giuseppe Mondi, the project—now a year old—features photos from the stream of pictures tagged #whatitalyis. Already with a 24,000-person following and 55,000 posts to its hashtag, it’s apparent how much Italy is loved both by nationals and those abroad.
