Cool Hunting Holiday Gift Guides 2014

A quick look at the four tailored guides designed to help you find the perfect present for your creative friends and family this season

For the 2014 holiday season, Cool Hunting worked with several like-minded purveyors to create four gift guides tailored to a range of tastes. You can find these in our newly redesigned Buy section, which serves as a continuously updated, perennial scope of the goods we stand behind. Below is a quick look at our four guides and what you can expect to find within each, in an assemblage that collectively encompasses luxury leather goods, Cool Hunting-commissioned chocolate bars, hand-painted bike helmets and much more.

CH Editions

CH Editions are items specially commissioned by Cool Hunting, and are available in limited supply. We’ll be adding several more surprises later this week, but for now you can peruse the goods we made with the American Design Club—cult favorites that we put our spin on—and be among the first to nab the chocolate Break Bar we made in collaboration with San Francisco’s Dandelion Chocolate and NYC-based design studio, Snarkitecture.

Story

We’ve been hosting Pitch Night with Story founder Rachel Shechtman at her ever-changing Chelsea shop for a few years. We’re always excited to see what local makers will bring in, and this year was exceptionally great. In our Story gift guide you can check out many of the objects pitched to our panel (which included Whoopi Goldberg this year)—from hand-painted bike helmets to locally sourced wool blankets to recycled gems—and know you’re supporting an independent designer with each purchase.

Spring

Combining the experience and variety of shopping at a mall in or in the city with the comfort and freedom of e-commerce is Spring, a new mobile marketplace. We filtered through their extensive inventory to bring you some of our favorites in one consolidated guide, which includes moon rock coasters, motorcycle jackets and everything in between.

Crest & Co.

Luxury is a word that gets thrown around casually, but the newly launched shopping destination Crest & Co truly embodies it. Many of the site’s brands have a legacy of providing to royal families around the world, and while that means these goods aren’t exactly easy on the average wallet, you can rest assured knowing your gift will last a lifetime. From Deborah Pagani’s Art Deco-meets-Punk earrings to a leather apron from the four generations-strong Swedish tannery Böle, here you’ll find an assortment of goods that are as timeless as they are unexpected.
