Tiny Atlas Quarterly + Alite Designs’ SOLAS Camera Bag

Lightweight and functional, this backpack-meets-tote is for experts and rookies

There are days when photographers (both novice and professional) simply do not need all their high-tech gear and a tech-heavy bag. For the casual adventure—whether heading to the beach or a hike—the new Alite Designs + Tiny Atlas Quarterly SOLAS camera bag might just be perfect. With a protective foam camera compartment and cushioned lens pouches, the SOLAS will keep your treasured device safe, but it can do a lot more too. The bag features a padded sleeve for a laptop, a fold-away center divider and two mesh interior pockets. Importantly, the SOLAS is water-resistant, lightweight and highly functional—it can be carried as a backpack, tote or shoulder bag.

Crafted from waxed cotton canvas, the bag also features vegetable-tanned leather accents and comes in three colorways: colorblock, black or natural and yellow. Our pick is colorblock for its retro vibe: the bag has a certain ’80s air about it, with its black, aqua, orange and yellow panels.

Currently funding on Kickstarter (though they have already exceeded their goal) a pledge of $175 will secure you one of the bags in any colorway you choose.
