Founded by activist power couple Ali Hewson and Bono in 2005, EDUN is a globally distributed fashion brand focused on bringing about positive changes through fair trade in Africa. As supporters of culturally aware initiatives, we encourage EDUN’s approach to design-minded fashion and cultural connectivity.

While the mercury continues to steadily linger below the preferred mark on the thermometer here in NYC, a recent warmer winter day provided the perfect opportunity for our friend Blair Pfander—a Brooklyn-based freelance writer and CH contributor—and her longtime beau Chris Wielk, to hit the streets in their favorite selects from Edun’s upcoming SS13 collection.

The two prefer understated hues anchored by subtle prints, relying on sharp design details and a tailored fit to make a statement. As a creative constantly on the go, Pfander tends to lean toward layers, picking the 100% cotton Military Sequin Top and complementary Military Jacket for the occasion. To pull the cross-seasonal outfit together, Pfander chose the pattern-heavy Crosshatch Camo Print Circle Skirt, which is made in Kenya. Wielk also went for a contemporary take on a classic look, donning the long-sleeved Check Basic Shirt under a Tweed Sweater, a combo that plays nicely with the casual, Tunisian-made Garment Dye Flap Pocket Pant.
