We Are Ink’d Temporary Tattoos

Bristol-based contemporary publisher Urban Graphic taps their favorite artists for non-committal body art

We’ve come a long, long way since the times when getting a tattoo was the exclusive prerogative of those on society’s fringes. Getting inked is still a pretty big decision however, so trying it out beforehand can oftentimes seem like a good idea. Step forward We Are Ink’d, a British temporary tattoo company (similar to Tattly) offering some of the quirkiest and most original designs we’ve seen in a while. Ink’d, which was started at the beginning of 2014, is a subsidiary of contemporary publisher Urban Graphic and has a wide selection of tattoos created by artists, typographers, illustrators and designers.

Among our favorites are typographist Adam Hayes’ collection of eight statements—including “Ain’t Goin Nowhere” and “Let’s Make Out”—in a variety of eye-catching fonts, and illustrator Gemma Correll’s happy goldfish in a vodka bottle. The tattoos last for about a week, giving the user plenty of time to decide whether a tattoo is a decision for life or simply a fun, temporary adornment.

Single tattoos via We Are Ink’d cost between $3 and $5. For the tattoo novice who wants value for the money, the artists’ packs of eight tattoos for $10 is the way to go.
