Smartphone Licenses

Iowa may not be the first place to pop into mind when you think high-tech, but the Midwestern state is getting serious with smartphones as they become the first to allow digital driver licenses. Instead of completely replacing physical IDs, Iowa will offer a supplemental “identity vault app” that will allow smartphone users to store their license information directly on their device. The app will be secured by a user-generated PIN and will be as safe as any other personal-data rich app you have on your phone right now. Iowans can expect the app to hit sometime in the near-future.
