Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors: A New Way to Explore Nature
With its new digital platform, travelers can search for the best Marriott Bonvoy properties that cater to their favorite outdoor activities

Instead of booking an excursion from your hotel to go on that epic hike, why not just step outside your room and hit the trail? Marriott’s newest platform, Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors, lets travelers filter their lodging search by nearby outdoor activities — think hiking, skiing, biking, fishing, surfing and more.
The digital platform pulls options from over 450 of Marriott Bonvoy’s most outdoorsy hotels, 50,000 properties from its Homes & Villas collection and specially curated Tours & Activities. Another new outdoor-centric brand, the Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy, features cozy, Scandinavian-inspired Postcard Cabins and chic Trailborn Hotels for guests to stay in, or very close to, nature.

Getting outside and embracing the outdoors is an easy way to add depth, memories and adventurous fun to just about any travel experience. “Travel is at its best when it speaks to who we are and what we love,” Peggy Roe, Chief Customer Officer and Executive Vice President of Marriott International, says. “We’re not just offering places to stay, we’re opening doors to experiences that inspire, connect and stay with you long after the trip ends.”

To further inspire travelers to engage with their surrounding landscapes, Marriott is also launching an interactive scavenger hunt across Canada and the United States called the Drop Pin Challenge. Players can follow clues and search for 20 physical pins in locations as varied as the Catskills, New York, Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Banff, Alberta for a chance to win 10,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per pin, redeemable for future hotel stays. TV personality, producer and nature lover Dylan Efron launched the Challenge, dropping the first pin in one of his favorite settings in Big Bear, California.

With his social media work, Efron taps into his enthusiasm for using nature to mentally recharge and try new things with an open mind. “I didn’t need to be a pro, and I didn’t need to be the best at it,” he says. “I just needed to go out there, be authentic, show my passion for the outdoors and for whatever activity I was doing, and people related to that, maybe even more so than if I was really good at it.”

As for his travel habits, choosing a destination based on its nearby outdoor activities is how Efron’s traveled his whole life. “If I want to go to hiking, I don’t want to just keep going back to places I know, I want to discover new places,” he says. “I think the other best part to me is [how Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors] forces people to get outside. This is your chance to not go from the hotel to a car to a restaurant. Go ride a bike, go hike and actually feel like you went to a destination.”
Visit Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors to book your next outdoor-focused trip, or try the new Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy to stay at a Trailborn or Postcard Cabin. The Drop Pin Challenge launches on 30 September, 2025 and runs through 31 October, 2025.
