Cosmo Protests Honor Killings

A new limited edition cover of Cosmopolitan magazine’s latest issue is raising awareness around honor killings, a situation in which a person is murdered by a family member for bringing shame upon the family. The cover, designed by Leo Burnett Change, pays homage to Shafilea Ahmed, who was suffocated by her parents in 2004 for refusing an arranged marriage, by depicting the face of a woman struggling to breathe through the plastic wrap that encases the issue.
