There are few names that draw as many design associations as Dieter Rams. The legendary figure of unprecedented imagination altered the world of industrial design. But remarkably, there’s never been a documentary about him or his immense contribution. That can change however, thanks to the efforts of Gary Hustwit, the filmmaker behind design docs “Helvetica,” “Objectified” and “Urbanized.” Hustwit is currently funding the Rams documentary on Kickstarter and beyond movie-making, some of the funds will also go toward helping preserve Rams’ design archive. Unsurprisingly, some of the backing rewards are pretty clever, as well.
