For the last two years Combatant Gentlemen has sought to help men dress better. They’re one of the few American menswear companies that own every element of their production from design to delivery. And their various apparel items, which range from highly refined to street-ready, are sold at exceptionally reasonable prices despite the top quality materials and production.
Just in time for everyone’s upcoming holiday parties, the team at CH has assembled two unique outfits from Combatant Gentlemen’s latest collection. Each look—though significantly different—offers a cohesive, style-forward option for different seasonal celebrations, whether you need to impress your crush, your boss or your in-laws. Dress up and feel confident, or dress down and feel your best—with prices that won’t sink holiday smiles.
Slim, Smart, Classic
A great suit doesn’t have to be astronomically priced. From Combatant Gentlemen’s options we picked the charcoal slim fit flannel suit ($200), which has a double-button jacket closure and is made from 100% Italian wool. With this already slick two-piece, a classic white oxford ($35) made from 100% pre-shrunk cotton is the best bet for bringing it all together. The Combatant Gentlemen version is slim fit, so it’s svelte enough to wear under the blazer but is tapered for a look that works untucked over jeans. To top off the formal ensemble, we opted for the silk Nothing But Knit tie ($14), which (along with a great name) dresses up the outfit, without going overboard. No Santa-covered ties here, just a handmade, stylish slender option.
Black and Blue
For a more laid-back occasion (with or without ugly Christmas sweaters), we chose a few black and blue pieces—all of which could easily be mixed and matched with various other items in an existing wardrobe. Combatant Gentlemen’s Black Slim Selvedge Denim jeans ($70) don’t just look neat, they have been made with world-class raw selvedge denim from one of the most respected mills in Japan—a symbol of guaranteed longevity. For the perfect pairing with these super-crisp jeans, we’re fond of the Navy and Black Micro Gingham shirt ($40). The look is sharp, but because it’s crafted from an Italian cotton that’s been blended with lightweight wool, it has a soft, worn-in feel—perfectly functional for playing catch with the cousins or wrestling a piece of pie from a belligerent uncle. For an extra layer, we chose the lightweight 100% cotton black cardigan ($35); a slim fitting sweater that can be worn over a button-down or T-shirt, depending on the kind of soiree you’re dressing for.
