Grupo Gitano Opens Mexico City Pop-up for Zona Maco

The international hospitality group takes over a restaurant and club for brunch, dinner and dancing

From their seasonal outdoor concept in NYC to their beloved permanent establishments in Tulum and Miami, the international hospitality venture Grupo Gitano taps into the excitement of local environments to celebrate art and design, as well as food and drink. This week Gitano opened the doors to their first-ever pop-up in Mexico City, which accompanies the acclaimed international art fair Zona Maco. James Gardner, Grupo Gitano’s founder and CEO, transformed the chic restaurant Helena and wondrous, geometric club Phonique (both in the same building) with lush Gitano signatures like disco balls and jungle decor.

Open to the public, the pop-up’s restaurant runs through 13 February. Reservations can be made on Gitano‘s website. It’s but one of many highlights surrounding Zona Maco this year, which include Galerie Philia‘s Transatlántico and OMR‘s Form Follows Energy with the contemporary art gallery joségarcía ,mx.
