Kid O NYC
If you read Daddytypes, you probably already know about Kid O, the modern design toy store. Inspired by modern learning theories, Lisa Mahar opened Kid O to offer products that encourage creativity, instill independence and a desire to accomplish, and help foster a sense of self. As a new mother, Lisa spent a lot of time researching different theories of learning and child development. As an architect and designer she knew the design of the toys mattered just as much as the philosophy. That’s why she offers stuff like the Froebel Gifts and Montessori blocks.
