Everyone knows a teenager can be a tricky gift recipient. They have strong opinions on what they like and definitely don’t like, plus it feels impossible to keep up with what’s cool. We asked friend and Beauty Heroes founder (and mom of a teen boy), Jeannie Jarnot, for her gift recommendations of clean skin care products. “Many of us have teens in our lives—sons, daughters, nieces, nephews—and they can be so hard to buy for,” Jarnot says. “And while I’m always nudging my son towards healthier habits and cleaner products, that doesn’t always align with what’s trending on TikTok. I’ve tried a lot of things on him over the years—some land, some don’t—so here’s what made the cut this season.”

For Teen Boys

Routine Body + Atmosphere Mist in So+So ($38)

This is at the top of my list. My son loves fragrance and has an assortment of little cologne vials scattered around his room. The bottle is huge, the fragrance is clean and subtly masculine (but honestly, it’s a universal scent) and he can mist it on his body or hair. I’m really hoping this becomes his signature scent. I’m also dropping the Routine Deodorant Stick in So+So ($24) into his stocking.

Blissoma Photonic Light Shifting Solution SPF 30 ($68)

If I want my son to wear sunscreen, it has to disappear instantly—teens will not tolerate a white cast. This blends in beautifully and feels like nothing, which means there’s actually a chance he’ll use it.

Ursa Major Hoppin’ Fresh Body Wash ($26)

A generously-sized bottle (important: boys can use a lot of product) with that crisp, clean, zingy scent profile he loves. Great lather. Great vibes.

Captain Blankenship Sea Salt Spray ($29)

This is his Hero product—the only sea salt spray that give his hair the exact texture he loves. When they love something, stick with it.

Earth Harbor Oasis Deep Pore Cleansing Gel ($14)

A simple, effective, oil-free gel cleanser at a great price. Easy to use, easy to love.

Graydon Phyto Clear ($54)

My favorite moisturizer for teen and combination skin. It clarifies, calms and doesn’t feel heavy or sticky . He uses this willingly—which says everything.

For Teen Girls

Leahlani Botanical Fragrance Discovery Set ($52)

Three beautiful, wearable scents in a super cute discovery size. This is a perfect intro to clean fragrance.

Routine Sexy Sadie Shampoo ($24) and Conditioner ($24)

A clean, great-smelling haircare duo that feels modern, cool and elevated. And free of all the stuff in conventional haircare. If I had a daughter, I know she’d love this set—and I’d pair it with the Routine Sexy Sadie Deodorant Stick ($24)for the full vibe.

RMS Liplights Cream Lip Gloss in Chameleon ($29)

pH-adapting lip products are having a major moment, and this option is clean, hydrating and adds a fun pop of pinky color.

Eyes That TOK Lash-Enhancing Mascara ($28)

This mascara’s a personal favorite of mine—it has the perfect build—that lengthens and defines without feeling too heavy.

evre. Skincare Starter Set ($59) or Clearing Skincare Set ($59)

Both of these sets are so well-loved by teens who have tested them at Beauty Heroes. While the branding leans feminine, the formulas are all-gender and genuinely great. I’ve used them myself and really enjoy them.

withSimplicity Translucent Setting Powder ($22) and Setting Mist + Spray ($24)

For girls who wear a bit of makeup, these are super clean staples—lightweight, natural and great for everyday. Both of these lock makeup in place without feeling too heavy.

Earth Harbor Eclipse Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 ($38)

Everyone needs a lightweight mineral SPF that blends in seamlessly. Easy, breezy and ideal for a teen routine.

Graydon Face Glow ($54)

The ultimate no-makeup glow-up. It moisturizes, protects and evens the skin tone effortlessly all while giving an effortless, dewy look. We cannot keep this in stock.

One Love Organics Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum ($39)

A gorgeous, fun-to-use body treatment with a fresh, uplifting scent. It’s such a great feel-good gift that mists on and leaves the skin velvety soft.

Doré Le Micellaire ($12)

The mini bottle is the perfect stocking stuffer: gentle, effective and endlessly useful. Plus, its 3.4-ounce size is perfect for travel.
