A Refined Point of View: Joe + Maddie Greer’s NYC

Inspiration, motivation and an undying dedication to honing one's craft in our beloved city

Land Rover‘s city-focused compact luxury SUV, the 2020 Range Rover Evoque has been refined and updated, but remains an undeniable classic—a little like New York City. We spent a few days with recent transplants Joe and Maddie Greer to explore NYC through a fresh lens, and found that they have an affinity and innate knowledge of this dynamic city.

The Greers, who moved to the city a couple years ago, are a creative duo who find NYC to be an endless source of inspiration and motivation. “What’s cool about being in New York and being an artist is that we’re never going to be the best at what we do in this city,” Joe tell us. “It’s a good motivating factor—there are people out there better than us. So let’s go out there and work hard and continue to refine our craft.”

Maddie says, “Living in New York City, I’m constantly surrounded by incredibly talented women who are absolutely killing it.” She took us to meet one of those women: Lima-born Port Zienna founder Francesca Canepa, who makes sophisticated, sustainable apparel.

From there, the Greers took us from Manhattan to Brooklyn, visiting some of their favorite places and people. We spent time at the NoMad Hotel, wandered through Park Slope’s brownstone-lined streets, shopped at the gloriously curated Front General Store, gazed at Roll & Hill‘s refined luxury lighting designs, and ate at the West Village’s elegant Perry St.

Finally we met soul-pop duo Lohai (aka Alita Moses and Devon Yesberger) who offered up a delightful soundtrack to our dusk wander on DUMBO’s waterfront.

Driving through NYC is always a visual delight, and seeing the city through the Greers’ eyes offered up an entirely different perspective. Every place we stopped and everybody we met galvanized understanding that this city is a place steeped in creativity, inspiration and a dedication to refining one’s craft—whatever it may be.

The 2020 Range Rover Evoque is all about refinement—it’s entirely redesigned, but immediately recognizable. Check out A Refined Point of View for Joe’s photos and more videos from the NYC stop on our tour of 10 American cities.
