Summerdown started growing Black Mitcham peppermint, an heirloom varietal, around thirty years ago. The farmers found and painstakingly brought cuttings back to England, and with lots of time and care the finicky plant settled in; today it’s grown on 100 acres. Once harvested it’s distilled and barrel-aged, and powers many products that the farm produces.
