Inspired by the hexagonal rocks of the Giant’s Causeway found on the North Coast of Ireland, Finn Watches‘ debut collection was designed in Northern Ireland by longtime watch fan Richard Dunlop. The affordable timepieces, which sport a Swiss-made Ronda 713 quartz movement, are generally minimalist in their aesthetic options but venture into uncommon territory with the hexagonal case and honeycomb dial. The collection introduces two different models: The Causeway features a stainless steel case while the Fingal’s Cave iteration has a black ion-plated coating. Both pieces wear like a standard circular 41mm watch, despite the fact that it does measure 44mm from the nine to three indicators. Design presents a common obstacle in the world of wristwatches: many look far too similar, while others take reimagining their potential too far. Here, with a bit of location-based inspiration and Celtic font, Finn Watches produces something distinct and still desirable.
A £110 pledge will result in either of the two Finn Watch options, if the campaign is successfully funded.
