Keeping a daily journal is not as easy as it sounds– I go in spurts, weeks of writing in my book, sketching in my black book, and then sudden dry spells. Micah Bauer's graphic journal has inspired me to keep documenting my ideas. He had pretty strict rules to abide by though– one composition a day, each day, for 365 days straight. His compositions must remind him of an experience of that day, each must contain typography or be derived from typographic elements, and more. Last years documentation is on display, and the work is really great. It was initially an exercise to hone his design skills, and now it seems clear to me that Mr. Bauer is talented and very well disciplined.
