Feltmark’s New Wald HI•LO Plug Lamp

A dimmable, minimalist light that extends right from an electrical outlet

LA-based design studio Feltmark initially made waves with their first iteration of the Wald Plug Lamp, a beautifully refined, space-saving fixture that extends directly from a power socket. Their latest update comes in the form of the Wald HI•LO. It features the same graceful design, but there are two notable tweaks. First, being crafted from aircraft aluminum, this lamp weighs only 6.87 ounces—even lighter than their last. Second, this fixture is fully dimmable, an improvement on functionality. Both updates result in an even more appealing object.

The prime benefit of the piece is offering the light-reach of a standing floor lamp, yet occupying zero floor space—not to mention, no hardwiring or trailing cords. And yet, there are artistic nuances to the piece which lend further value. In fact, every lamp has been double bead-blasted before being anodized in a series of baths—all for the sake of landing its distinct chroma. This is a smart, cleanly geometric piece that’s exceptionally useful for dwellers of small spaces.

The new WALD HI•LO comes in three colorways—Olive Drab, Dark Plum and Neutral—and is available for purchase online for $159 each.
