Made by the team behind Casamigos (George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman) who know a thing or two about creating new brands in the beverage space, it’s certainly not the first but it is one of the better tasting. Magnetron Carabiner

Most classic locking climbing carabiners have two innate design flaws. The gate closes against a hooked beak that tends to catch the rope. And, typically, you have to thread them shut, too. Black Diamond’s latest Magnetron is better. As its name suggests, it uses magnets both at the hookless nose and for the sliders on either side of the gate, and there’s no hook. Instead, the magnets instantly fasten the lock shut, requiring no secondary action. That saves you energy during a taxing climb. Trashy Goods pretty much sums up this new brand started by two friends with big smiles, a passionate  appreciation for good design and for doing something about the growing concern about waste materials. It comes in several sizes and many colors, but The Perfect Weekend Tote is our favorite, hitting that just-right spot for an overnight. The Gilda Radner Great American Series collection

If you know of Gilda Radner’s legacy it needs no introduction.
