If you’re not familiar with chocho, it’s a lupin (same legume family as peanuts, peas, lentils, and soybeans) that packs one of the highest protein levels. It’s exclusively grown by native farmers in the Ecuadorian Andes at an elevation of 11-14,000 feet. Ricky Echanique, a fifth generation farmer and athlete, was seeking new options in plant-based nutrition, and realized that chocha was a perfect source for nutrient-dense protein powder.
