Bugaboot 1 Limited Edition

In 1993 Columbia Sportswear introduced its revolutionary Bugaboot, its first footwear item, designed by sneaker design and icon Peter Moore alongside Columbia’s legendary founder Gert Boyle and Tim Boyle, its then CEO. The concept was simple—pairing a robust duck book with an athletic shoe feel—and quite a design challenge. The original was an extension of the company’s classic Bugaboo 3-in-1 jacket, named after Canada’s Bugaboo mountain range. This re-release, in its original color way, is limited to 1,993 numbered pair, and come with custom packaging and a key chain.

It’s a book celebrating the brand’s anniversary, but looking forward instead of back. Mintiens speaks with Sam Altman (founder of OpenAI), Marcus Engman (Chief Creative Officer at IKEA), Lonneke Gordjin (Co-Founder of Studio Drift), Ivy Ross (Chief Design Officer at Google), architect Daniel Libeskind and fifteen other visionaries. It’s a great resource and thought exercise for anyone who leans into their work with a foot in the future.

The Single Edge Max Razor

Our journey to simplify the environmental impact of our routines led us to Supply and their Singe Edge Max Razor. We love it for its minimal and aesthetic design, and even more for its performance. It has to give you a great shave as a starting point, and all of our trials easily passed that test. Powered by the brand’s small blades (about 1/3 the height of a standard blade), it’s about the smallest you can engineer to get the job done. Each blade can be used for a week or so, and when it’s time to exchange it you pop it into the case and rotate the nob on the case to dispense a new one. The razor is aluminum and zinc, easily recycled when you retire it. Great performance and design, with a lower environmental impact. This set comes with the razor, a set of eight refill blades and a wall mount. Other kits are available with additional items.
