Chefs, hospitality professionals and enthusiastic home cooks know that all aprons aren’t the same, despite appearances. The team at industry-grown Helt Studio understands this innately, and founded the company upon the belief that culinary workers should have the same level of performance built into their apparel as athletes. Just one of their many products, the Crossback Apron (pictured here in the Deep Sea colorway) is super-functional and has been crafted from 10-ounce water-resistant canvas. With an adjustable neck strap and 46-inch waist straps, it features two lap pockets as well as a chest pocket—and a hidden spot for your phone.
From Australian brand Perks and Mini’s spring/summer 2022 collection, each Upcycled Dragon Egg Tote Bag is individually crafted in Melbourne from nylon ripstop fabric that features a digital print. The design is a tweaked take on a bag from the PAM archive—which dates back to 2000, when Misha Hollenbach and Shauna Toohey founded the now-cult brand. The elasticated “corn” gathering creates a ruched effect, and the bag features custom PAM woven straps.
Greenpoint, Brooklyn-based Brother Vellies—founded by Aurora James—champions traditional African design practices while sustaining artisanal practices and offering luxury accessories. Their cotton mid-calf Cloud Socks are chunky and cozy. While the one-size-fits-all socks comes in a range of colors, our pick is the lavender, as proceeds from this hue go to the brand’s mask-making and food-distribution initiatives in Kenya.

Founded by Irish textile designer Hannah Whelan, Brooklyn-based MÁLA focuses on playful but long-lasting bags. Every item is designed, hand-stitched and shipped by Whelan—and the Wibbly Wobbly Rope Tote is no exception. This twist on the classic tote bag is named after the Irish treat (an ice cream filled with banana, strawberry and lemon jelly) from the ’70s, and comes in various colorways. Our favorite is the red and pink iteration. Made from canvas, it’s 15 by 16 inches and its double handles (crafted from nylon) measure around 12 inches. Each bag will vary slightly due to its handmade nature.
