The Chicago gallery recently hosted an exhibition of Sun Ra’s multidisciplinary art, tracing some of his remarkable life as a musician, poet, performer and beyond. Oakland-based artist Yétundé Olagbaju has printed some of her glorious work onto square 35-inch satin scarves that can be worn or hung on a wall. Her “Magician” scarf features symbolism for the four elements, but in Olagbaju’s distinct, beautiful style—as a swan, a Yoruba bust, a fan and a vase. Hashimoto Contemporary currently has over 20 limited edition prints by Brooklyn-based artist Karen Lederer available for purchase. Each is a monoprint with hand-deckled edges and many feature cacti, flowers and smiley faces. “Untitled 22” features two abstract plants and an ombre background that’s reminiscent of sunlight. Every print measures 20 by 20 inches, and each is limited to an edition of just one.
