Swedish firm Teenage Engineering have plundered the license cabinet of Stig Carlsson, the engineer who dared to challenge the audio establishment with speakers meant for use in a real lving room. The OD-11 cloud speaker is built from scratch internally, has an integrated amp bashing out a respectable 100 watts (from a 25cm cube), as well as an integrated Wi-Fi and sound processor—and it will run for years on a single cell. The custom Orthoplay remote control app lets you control one or more speakers and stores every song you’ve ever played.
Created by celebrated Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen in 1955, the Tongue Chair was originally designed for the Munkegaard School outside Copenhagen (which Jacobsen also designed). The chair was sold briefly in the ’80s, but then went out of production. Now, Jacobsen’s grandson Tobias has resurrected the classic design—scaled up for adult derrieres—and reissued it in wonderful textiles, from leather to Kvadrat’s Divina MD.

Turin, Italy-based experimental studio Nucleo teamed up with Alexandra Denton on a limited-edition collection of end tables called Petroglyph Fossil. The lightweight, geometric stools are made from hand-poured fiberglass and dyed polyester resin in a mold based on Nucleo’s 2011 Petrolgyph collection. Only 33 models were made in each color: red, white, and black.
